Lit Self Care

I could argue that any smoking of marijuana is automatically self-care. However, there are some activities when paired with the magic bullet open up windows of self awareness and grounding that take self care to true healing levels. The year 2024 has officially arrived and is moving along, as promised by the laws of our universe. With all the resolutions freshly looming in our subconscious, it is the right time to take a moment after a sesh to access the voice of the universe, inner wisdom, and guidance to put ourselves in a mental state that will leave us better today than we were yesterday. Here are a few of my favorite self-care routines I like to do high.

Yoga

There’s nothing like tuning in to take the edge off. High yoga makes for the perfect opportunity to be present with what’s going on within at any given moment and the chill vibes to accept it as is. Yoga isn’t about changing anything, but being with yourself and it provides the space to be present. I enjoy being able to tune into the present moment with elevated awareness and curiosity, and feeling into the subtle sensations of my body as it flows through the different poses.

Nature Walks

It’s no secret that nature is healing, and there’s something about walking through nature high that makes you feel small yet protected. Not to mention the heightened sensations allow you to really sink in all the beauty that nature has to offer.

Enjoying Silence

Couch lock anyone? Yummy!

Naps

And how about a nap right after. SUPER yummy!

Music

The best music is the music of the gods. It has the power to energize in both positive and negative ways. After a sesh, vibing with the music that is vibing with you is an immersive experience like no other. Whatever the mood is, it’s felt more intensely high; the music’s energy comes in at heightened levels of awareness. In my opinion this makes the music more three dimensional and overall more enjoyable. Music is also low maintenance, you can turn it on almost anywhere, so it’s often my go-to activity to re-energize or heal/work through whatever troubles me.

Making mistakes

Empty containers in the refrigerator, accidentally seasoning oatmeal with paprika, and losing and finding hundreds of lighters a year. It’s the mistakes we make  high that prove a vital point – that we are all wasting precious brain power on things that won’t make or break us anyways, when we could be chill instead. Maybe part of the reason we’re so stressed to begin with is because we’re constantly trying to do everything right and as the years go on, so does the to-do list. My favorite self care routine is to get ripped and release my expectations if only for a moment. Self care doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s just giving yourself permission to be enough.
