Christmas is an undisputed vibe. I’m not exactly a holiday cheermeister, but ’tis the season to be jolly, and it’s probably the one time a year where excessive joy is tolerated, if not encouraged.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
As cannabis becomes more a part of popular culture, there are even more reasons to celebrate this year. The Christmas traditions of our past are spread wide, and cannabis can help us dig deeper this season to tap into the magic of Christmas. Oh what fun it is to see the old anew, through the wonderous eyes of a child. Here are some of my favorite holiday traditions with cannabis.
No more hideouts
Stigmas are breaking and people are more vocal about their use than ever. Turns out many different kinds of people with varying backgrounds have benefited from marijuana and that is reason enough to celebrate. Also, innovation in the market has opened up an avenue for more discreet usage (i.e. cartridges, edibles, drinks), so no more sneaking off for walks in the cold. Stoners heard far and wide are stepping out into the light and blazing a new trail of acceptance and drama free indulgence.
Christmas lights
If you haven’t tried getting lit for Christmas lighting, you could be missing out on some much needed Christmas magic. Remember when we were kids and the simple things made our hearts full of wonder? Christmas lights have a magical glow and something about them makes you smile. A stroll through your neighborhood after dinner and a sesh is a warm way to polish off a cold Christmas day and soak in those final holiday vibes.
A cleaner party
Even with the progress the community has made, there’s still some stigma about weed and those who consume it. However, with enough like minded people together, weed and partying go hand in hand. It is thee celebration for a good time, and for moments of gratitude and relaxation with loved ones. Swapping out alcohol for weed means a cleaner party – more laughter, more enjoyment of good food and music, and a good night’s sleep when it’s all said and done. To party hard with weed is a much better experience than the traditional methods of the past, and a great new tradition to bring into families who are accepting of it.
Music
Christmas music is its own genre for good reason. It is the stuff of jolly vibes and holiday cheer. It’s the stuff of Christmas magic. A smoke sesh and some holiday tunes are sure to get you in the holiday spirit this year and catch a wave on the joys of caroling. The season is special because it is the one time of year where the makings of a good mood give us the space for love and gratitude we often take advantage of the rest of the year. It is a true celebration! Riding high on cloud 9 and vibing to a tune of love and kindness is not a hard ask when you celebrate with Mary Jane and some energetic Christmas music.
Trauma healing
There is a dark side to this time of year and it comes from the traumas that plague us. Lost family members, broken relationships, and hard times can make Christmas feel more like an ugly reality than a time to celebrate. On the outside it could feel like a daunting task to force a smile of meet a number of social obligations, but cannabis is helping people deal with personal traumas so they can positively interact with the world. At the very least, cannabis (when consumed responsibly) can help people relax in a moment, get more rest and find some mental space to cope with trauma and/or stress.
In conclusion, cannabis offers us a new way to experience the highs of holiday cheer. So deck the halls, ring Christmas bells, and light one up for Jesus. It’s Christmas time!
